Have you ever been in love?
Love is a Mystery. Full of secrets to find out.
Weeks ago, Christian asked me to find articles about the Four Kinds of Love. It was his younger brother’s assignment for Values Education class. Upon reading what I found, it caught my attention.
I didn’t know there were four kinds of love!
1. Storge love (pronounced stor-gay)
Storeg is natural,human love. for example, ” I love america. I love my
parents. I Love mankind. I love horses. I love pizza. I love the idea.
I would love to go to Hawaii.”
2. Eros love (pronounced air-oss)
Eros love is a passionate love. We get our word erotic from this word.
Eros love causes physical arousal. Eros love is what makes you get that
pit in your stomach when your special someone walks into the room. or
your arms brushes againts them, or you touch for the time. Its is
emotional arousal based on body or sexual chemistry. Eros love is
concerned with “my happiness”. (this is what you do for me. Yoy make me
feel this way.)
3. Phileo love (pronounced fill-eh-o)
Phileo love is an affectionate love. its is the love of liking: i like you. I like
spending time with you. “I” and “you” have become “we”. We are friends.
We have fun together. Phileo is “what called out of you by the qualities of another person.”
I see this in you, and I like it I like you because of something you do
or are. Pileo love could be assumed up as “our happiness” (concern for
relationship,being together, we get long).
4. Agape love (pronounced uh-gop-ay)
Agape love is unconditional love. I t desires the other’s highest good.
What can I do for you? No matter what, your highest good is what I will
pursue. Agape love is not based on conditions Agape love is a “no
matter what” love,which can be summarized as “your happiness.” ( Does
it make the other person better?)
I guess there really is a lot of mystery when it comes to love!
