She stared blankly as she walked. All that she could remember was the scene when he was shouting out her. “It’s over! I’m so tired of this relationship! We’re just always fighting and arguing!” And then he left.
It was dreadful, and all she could wish was things to be okay soon – no matter how clueless she was how that would be possible. She walked and walked, until she couldn’t just walk anymore and cried. As tears fell down her cheeks or she could do was remember how vague every memory was.
All that she could ever remember was every sweet word he once said “I won’t leave you, I’ll always be here”. All she could remember was all his promises, but now all she could do is be numb because everything went too fast, and now he went away.
It’s as if the world had fallen because he was her everything. Everyday, he’d come and fetch her from home. He’d treat her for lunch, would tell her funny stories that made her laugh. Everyday he carried her heavy things; he’d warm her up with his embrace when she felt cold. And during the days she was sick he was there to cheer her up and take care of her. But now, every thing seems hopeless.
As the memories played on rewind in her head, she didn’t realize that she got to the church. It melted her heart to tears even more when she noticed someone at the church was having a wedding. Once, it was their dream to get married there. At that place, they made a vow their cherished moment was to be there. But all she can do now is watch as her dream fade away, and burst into tears.
She cried so much she didn’t notice everything around her. She cried and cried, and didn’t mind all the people who looked at her, until a stranger sat next to her.
“Hey miss, take this.” The guy was giving her a handkerchief, but she declined and just looked at him with wonder. She was afraid he was some kidnapper but to her he wasn’t. “You can talk to me if you need someone to talk to you know.” He talked and while she was only listening, still crying.
“You must’ve lost hope too huh? Me too…”
He continued on and didn’t mind the girl.
“I’ve been looking for a job for a long time now. But I still haven’t found any.”
She assumed he was some new graduate, but what bugged her is why he was talking to her.
“Don’t lose hope. He listens. He’s there you know, you’ll get through everything.”
She cried at the thought of what he said. Yes, God was there. And she can be strong. Even without her so called boyfriend. She can be better. She can…
“Excuse me sir” Another voice came in. But this time, this person is familiar.
It was him; he pulled her hand and took her to another seat. And he had these kind eyes. Kind eyes she was longing for.
“I’m sorry. I’m sorry I hurt you. It’s just that I lost my temper, please forgive me?”
And she couldn’t do anything anymore when she heard this.
“But you said we’ve broken up?” Tears fell down her face again.
“Did I?” He said.
“I forgot I did, so please don’t cry now baby?” He embraced her as he pleaded sorry.
She cried again but this time, tears of joy. They talked a bit and she mentioned about the guy.
“Beside you? Well, I saw an old guy.”
“No, the guy was only about ten years older than us!”
She pointed back to where she was sitting but they didn’t see anything.
“Oh, he must have left already. But I swear…”
“Come on, let’s go home. It’s raining. Maybe He went by to tell you something.”
He pulled me close to him and walked out of the church, I kept on thinking…I wonder who he was?
